One of my favorite Blogs is ending next week after four years.

Neil Pasricha started 1000 Awesome Things to call attention to the little beauties and overlooked pleasures that we sometimes miss during our busy days. But what you may not know is that this hopeful project was born out of Neil's broken marriage and other tragedies in his life.

What started as a personal search for healing became an award-winning Blog and series of best-selling books all from a daily reminder that even when our lives feel most troubled, we can always find some awesome too.

Neil surprised me when he told me this post was one of his favorites and the only one out of all 1,000 that does not end with "AWESOME" in all-caps.

(I hope I find the right time to end PostSecret and do it the right way.)

Neil's decision to end his ad-free Blog while it's still popular reminds me of how Bill Watterson ended his comic strip at the height of its' profitability because it was the right thing to do for Calvin and Hobbes.

Hi Frank,

I'm positive you get these every day, but honestly PostSecret has saved my life.

Me and my mother attended your event in Rochester a while back... After the first few minutes of you speaking I got tears in my eyes... It was exactly what I thought it would be!

That event gave me the courage and the strength to tell her I was sexually assaulted... Since then, we've gotten along so much better.

The trauma I carried on my shoulders from what was done to me was heavy enough that I attempted suicide more then once.

So thank you, but I wanna ask you to share something... April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and I can tell you coming out is so hard and sometimes seems hopeless but help IS out there!! And victims can get better!! Don't give up hope!

I'm not a victim... I'm a survivor!
